Faith in Housing - Bristol Housing Festival

In partnership with the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Commission on Housing, Church and Community, Bristol Housing Festival are delighted to host a series of presentations and debate to explore the Church’s practical response to the housing crisis as part of its mission and how trust is re-established between government, industry and the public to create a more positive context in which to meet the city’s longer term housing and community needs.

During the evening you will hear from members of the commission and explore the role of Faith in Housing by addressing the theology and practical application of how we respond to the brokenness and needs in our city and asking how do we personally respond - if there is a ‘price to pay’ to see our cities prosper should we be willing to pay that price?  

This event will also explore the broader question of how to rebuild public Faith in Housing and change the narrative on house building that is so often negative. It is important to invite the public into the challenges, complexities and opportunities that we face as a city, to harness our collective ability to genuinely be creative and courageous and provide longer term solutions that are socially, economically and environmentally sustainable. In order to do this, we must rebuild trust between those involved.
